Network optimisation

The network design process considers the number and locations of facilities such as ports, factories, warehouses and retail outlets, together with all transport movements between these nodes. Some projects have involved rationalising the number of warehouses, whilst others have been to establish a new greenfield site.  We have completed many projects on detailed network design, working for retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers.

Cost and performance data

To support the strategy development process we maintain information on current warehouse build costs, equipment and operating costs, transport rates, land prices and property rental costs.

Warehouse sizing and location

A common network design project is work with clients to size and locate a new warehouse.  For these projects, our Network Design tool is used which identifies the ideal configuration of warehouses in order to minimise total supply chain costs whilst maintaining a desired service level.
